Nathan Hall, President
I am a 9th generation Central Appalachian and former underground coal miner, proud of my heritage but also aware of the serious challenges facing the economy and environment of my home region. My career path is focused on addressing the "triple bottom line" of people, planet, and profit in the Appalachian coalfields through social entrepreneurship. Renewable energy, sustainable agriculture/forestry, and ecological remediation are my primary areas of interest. I have developed a plan for agroforestry on surface mined lands to produce food, energy, and value-added products and I hope to enact this plan through the process of a Master of Environmental Management degree at the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies.
